It starts from Riseccioni, where the countryside gives way to chestnut groves, and climbs along old mule tracks leading to Molino and PàstinePàstine, witnesses to an agricultural economy made up of small plots and everyday labor. Passing through the evocative Fonte alla Massa, a historic spring where travelers once stopped to rest, the route reaches Bivigliano, a historic holiday destination surrounded by greenery, which developed between the 19th and 20th centuries as a summer retreat for Florentines. A peaceful village, it is a privileged starting point for hikes and walking routes, as well as a gateway to Monte Senario, a place of great spiritual value immersed in the woods.
From Bivigliano to Sommavilla di Sotto
The descent accompanies walkers through historic farms and agricultural landscapes: Castagneto, Il Trebbio and Villa del Sorbo tell the story of the deep bond between people and the land, between cultivation, transformation, and the management of the countryside. The route ends at Sommavilla di Sotto, completing a stretch that harmoniously connects valley and mountain.
