Itinerary
From Villa del Trebbio to Lake Bilancino
The itinerary starts from Villa del Trebbio, one of the symbolic places of the Medici landscape, surrounded by olive groves and woods. From here, a farm road descends gently toward Case Doccioli, crossing a still well-preserved agricultural environment. The route continues towar Case Rotona and La Leona, alternating open stretches along panoramic ridges with more shaded passages among oaks and cypresses. It then proceeds toward Case Rocchetta and La Pergola, where the landscape becomes broader and views begin to open over the Mugello and the lake basin. Reaching Case Poggiolo, the descent becomes steeper until arriving at Lake Bilancino, a large artificial reservoir surrounded by gentle hills. Here the route offers a natural pause, with open views over the water and the surrounding mountains.
From Lake Bilancino toward Croci di Calenzano
The return route climbs back through the Val di Labbia and Le Prata, following more secluded stretches of trail immersed in the woods. It is a varied and harmonious itinerary, alternating agricultural landscapes, scattered hamlets, and lakeside nature, offering a complete experience of the territory between the Mugello valley and the Medici hills.
